RICHARD FEAKINS

DIRECTOR

Richard believes that managing taxation is about the client journey. This involves not just looking into their past but understanding where they are now and what they are trying to achieve. It involves managing a lifelong strategy that is uniquely tailored to each individual’s experience. By focusing on tax management as a journey, his goal is to maximise wealth, make life easier, and provide peace of mind.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Coming from the UK, with expat experience while living in New Zealand for over a decade, Richard brings first-hand experience of the challenges expats face. He has developed a deep understanding of UK tax issues surrounding residence and domicile, inheritance tax, wealth planning, CGT, and tax compliance for both individuals and businesses.

His previous experience includes an extensive career at EY working with global families and individuals, as well as work as a Senior Tax Consultant in one of London’s top 20 firms.

CST UK NETWORK

In 2015 Richard established his own practice in the UK. His firm joined the CST Tax Advisors network of firms in 2020. As such, Richard heads up our team when it comes to tax compliance issues faced by those who are moving to or from the UK.

QUALIFICATIONS

Richard is a Fellow Tax Consultant from the Association of Taxation Technicians and holds a NZ DipBus (Finance and Accounting).

UK INTERNATIONAL TAX EXPERT

As our resident UK expert, Richard’s specialisations cover a range of UK tax areas. This includes employee share schemes, R&D claims, capital gains and loss planning, residence and domicile advice, inheritance tax, wealth planning and preservation, tax compliance, HMRC investigations, and clearance applications.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND

In his spare time Richard enjoys cabinet making and general woodworking.

I enjoy the journey with my clients to understand what they are trying to achieve now and into the future and why that is important to them.

There is no one size fits all solution in tax but rather a lifelong strategy to maximise wealth and make life easier - peace of mind.
