“Impact investing,” or investing in companies that “do good,” is a concept that is quickly gaining traction and becoming more mainstream in the financial world. Due to investor demand, many large firms now operate a segment of their businesses as impact investments. However, the precise definition of “impact investment” is still being debated, and total assets held as impact investments remains a tiny percentage of overall assets managed by financial firms.
